The song and the album, both titled “Born to Run” got released in 1975, and sprung Springsteen into stardom. From Freehold, NJ, here’s the boss, Bruce Springsteen…Born to Run

America's DJ From the X Radio Studio in Tambov, Hello world, I’m America’s DJ with a special edition of music and commentary. Today, we are featuring the music, the lives and the death of three legendary musicians when rock and roll was in its infancy: Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens. Ritchie Valens was born on May 13, 1941 as Richard Steven Valenzuela. He was a pioneer of Spanish-speaking rock and roll with a recording career that lasted only eight months. That’s because his life ended tragically in a plane crash on February 3, 1959, which also took the lives of Buddy Holly and The Big Bopper. His most notable hit came in 1958 from a Mexican folk song that he transformed with a rock rhythm and beat called “La Bamba”…La Bamba
